Review: End – III (Full album, 2009) | Black metal

Today we have an old but historical black metal album to present to you, End‘s third and last full-length album from 2009.

While the Greek band isn’t as famous as some of their contemporaries (also as a result of never playing live) they were quite influential around the early 00s for offering an alternative to the typical sound of the Greek scene, more cold, bleak and Norwegian-influenced, also with a bit of touch of the more experimental/weird bands of the northern hemisphere.

Featuring members also participating in Sun of Nothing in earlier releases (another historical post-bm Greek band we featured recently) as also Aaron Carey from Nechochwen in their latest two recordings (all split albums), with their third full-length album End created a gem of concise but actually varied black metal that encapsulates fast aggression, a dark forest-y atmosphere, some doomy and torturous parts, a bit of technical riffing, even some groove and wild headbanging moments as well, with the cold guitars accompanied by an excellent drum performance and vocals.

Expect a lot of invisible oranges to be made while listening to the album! III is a work of quality black metal with no fillers and time wasted at all, and if you’re a vinyl maniac, you should know that it was re-released last year as well. We just hope that this album won’t be their end, but nonetheless, you should explore their strong discography along with this album.
