We’re delighted to have Lammoth back, the one and only hobbit antifascist one-man black metal band from Asheville, North Carolina. After 2024’s “Tales of Treachery” ep which combined epic badass black metal with wholesome blackgaze atmospherics and elements of electronic music, all tied thematically to Tolkien universe, we had high hopes for the continuation of this very original project. And at last we are in the position today to present the first full-length album, which is dedicated, as you might guess, to the noble companions of hobbits in Middle 
Earth, the ponies. You should be prepared for some very uplifting vibes, seeing perhaps the most wholesome cover we’ve had featured in ABMN for a while, and you won’t be dissapointed.
Lammoth leans even more heavily to its melodic blackgaze side in this album and also adds elements from chiptune music, with synths that sound very 8-bit-like and some subtle electronic rhythms here and there. I know we’re already using the word wholesome too many times in this review, but think of the soundtrack of many, eh, wholesome artsy retro-looking games of the last two decades that revive the 8-bit aesthetic and you’ll get the feel of this album exactly. Who said that black metal shouldn’t feel like this? There’s just too much darkness in the world that we need some time to appreciate the good things in life. Ponies, foxes, Tolkien, good games, epic tales and each other’s company.
