Review: Act The Fool – Nebel (EP, 2024) | Hardcore

Happy Sunday everybody! We hope you’re in the mood for something a little different but that doesn’t stray too far from our usual vision.

Today we are excited to give you Germany’s own Act The Fool and their recent EP, Nebel.

Act The Fool comes right out of the gate with fist-pumping hardcore punk on Nebel and keeps the pace throughout the whole 15 minutes of length.

Now, what makes Act The Fool really exciting is that instead of attending the school of say Hatebreed, they actually feel like they studied under the tutelage of Minor Threat, Bad Brains and others of that 80’s hardcore punk scenes. Act The Fool brings that and modernizes it, importing other influences that can be felt. With the song “Warten auf die Nacht”, Act the Fool really channels a bit of Swedish crust punk mixed with their brand of hardcore punk for a very familiar feel.

Overall though, Act The Fool brings out that working-class feel with the street punk/hardcore punk anger on Nebel. Something that, unfortunately, has been lacking in the US scene. But hey if you got Kob 82 in your rotation, make sure you bring along Act The Fool!
