In Portuguese, saudade represents an emotional feeling mixing melancholy, nostalgia and hope. It’s the feeling of a strong longing for something or someone that is loved but also absent. By this title, the US-based band Mourn The Stars gives a taste of their first album Saudade…. If you’ve been following for some time now, you might remember Dysthymia. Well I have news for you, Mourn The Starts is Grushenka‘s new project. If you loved her DSBM with Dysthymia, you’ll love her melodic BM.

With 5 songs, this is a short but efficient full-length album, leaving space for a good variety of emotions. With very calm parts, some others very aggressive, and an impressive scream, you meloblack fans will find your match. The guitars and drums are very well used and combined, with the most melodic parts really sticking out and almost bringing joy and hope into music that is quite despaired otherwise. There are only five songs as I said earlier, but it seems like the album is way longer, the music brings you on a trip, holding your hands while you get lost in every emotion you had suppressed the past few days.

I personally really enjoyed this album as a meloblack lover and if you’re the same as me, you will enjoy it as well!
