Review

Black Market Fossil of Canada has brought us a very unique twist to the blackened doom genre. Combining the rawness of black metal with the classic sounds of late 80s/ early 90s doom. This may be unimaginable to some, but they have pulled it off here.

A lot of the melodies are so incredibly catchy (the writer of this caption is still humming some of them as they write this). However, at no point do things feel commercial in any way as the music is wrapped up in the ice-cold sound of black metal. And this album has riffs for days!

Beyond that, the themes of the album touch on many leftist values, anti-bigotry as well as the environment (which you may have heard, excites us a lot). This was an absolute no-brainer to have on the channel and we applaud and appreciate more bands who try something new with their established genres.
