Review

Cesoia is a blackened grind-folk project from Italy that proposes an extremely interesting but also extremely short album for its first production. You get the shortness and brutality of grindcore, a few folkish moments in the intro, the outro or in “Two Brothers”, and a blackened, crusty voice.  There is a relief found in the synths tracks that arise from time to time and leave the brain at peace before returning to more grind-folk.

The lyrics are on point, mostly rooted in the folklore and horrific stories happening around Vicenza, but also in antifascism with ‘To Kill a Man” which tells the story of resistance and off-ing n*zis during WWII.

This is however very short, almost too short, but I’m waiting for Cesoia’s next productions because this announces the start of a great blackened grindcore band.
