Review
It’s always nice to put an album on and then be actually immersed in the music one way or another. What we mean is that when putting music some people use it to help focus for whatever or others see music for its more artistic side or just any reason at all. Gnashing by Dolorous Gnaw is going to satisfy probably every bit of need or desire that any sort of noise fan can appreciate.
There’s a certain minimalism happening throughout the entirety of Gnashing; however, even if you’re not listening and it’s background noise (heh), you pick up on its various nuances. Gnashing starts almost like a vacuum, both literally and figuratively, because it’s like there’s a vacuum hum from the moment you hit play. But it sucks you in like that and then you find yourself hearing what could be violins in the background then shuffling, voices, singing, etc. Dolorous Gnaw really knows how to entrance the listener because there are multiple times one needs to hear this to catch all of it, but that’s part of the fun, no?
