Review

Imagine A Boot‘s new material is raw and -as the author mentions- iconoclastic raw black metal created out of fury at the rise of fascism. But before we get to anti-fascism a few words about the music. The music on “Fearless Werewolf Killers” is essentially raw black metal, which, as usual for this kind of music, features the head-drilling sound of dissonant guitars, which can further enhance the vocals full of shrieking anger. The riffs manage to grab attention with their classic black metalness juxtaposed often with something surprising that happens at the time – whether on vocals or on the side of the rhythm section. These musical experiences are already very good on their own and complemented by a fantastic message.

It is indeed a hymn to continue the anti-fascist struggle, urging you to fight. Whether allegorically or literally. Check for yourself! After all, we all hate those annoying dudes in their fucking Nazi T-shirts, those pompous clowns and their dog whistles, or the blatant wearing of two eights and black suns. And we hate them even more intensely when they try to pretend to be counter-culture. When they create an image of themselves as rebels that, in fact, are always useful idiots of authority and the last resort of capitalism. And that’s exactly what this release is about. The title werewolf on the cover is pierced by three arrows and above it are placed two cats resembling those used by anarcho-syndicalists. It should also be mentioned that Werewolf is as well the name of an underground Nazi organization, active after the fall of the Third Reich. The last song titled “Not A Wolf, Not A Ram” is about long-time nazi Jasper Velzel, who has a strong position in the black metal scene with his label and distro New Era Productions. Through New Era Productions he releases and distributes many nazi releases. He operates an important gate between the regular black metal underground and the nazi scene.

Good Night White Pride.
