Review
Once again, we are pleased to present to you It Is Dead. This is a band from the so-called USA midwest, and today we premiere their new album “Liberate, Upon the Altar of Freedom”.
This work brings a slight change of style, and while it is still more or less blackened crust, the new album falls into the war metal style. Powerful vocals, rushing with riff guitar (which, however, can slow down almost sludge-like) and viciously blasting drums, and an anarchist war against the state and all oppression. And the state in which the musicians find themselves deserves a war issued by the people who had the misfortune to be under the occupation of a government of fascist technocrats.
War metal doesn’t have to be about tanks, empires or worse, wet fascist fantasies of killing. War can have a meaning similar to revolution, and so It Is Dead calls for an uprising and a metaphorical participation in the war against tyranny. For total freedom.
The album, ‘Liberate, Upon the Altar of Freedom‘ is a fiercely passionate anarchist anthem against racism, tyranny and injustice, and it sounds damn well.
