Review: Ivory Primarch – The Portrait (Full album, 2024) | Doom metal

Today we bring you back Ivory Primarch but this time with their full album, The Portrait, which is due out this Friday.

The Portrait starts off with a hint of electronic-ness that morphs into a strange brew of blackened death doom metal. And yes, that was quite a word salad but there seems to be no other way to pinpoint exactly where Ivory Primarch settle or even begin, but we know that they’re not here to mess around.

It’s definitely their strongest point throughout the album, shaking up the perceived genre and then genre-hopping, albeit perhaps at a slow-ish pace. It’s an attention grabber and something that keeps you guessing as you navigate this beast of an album. As one song ends and another begins you feel intrigued and want to know what’s going to happen next.

Let’s not waste much more time here and go find out for yourselves how this plays out, doom on
