At this point, Sweden’s Mordran is probably already quite well-known for anyone who follows our channel, this being something like the 5th time they have been featured (it helps that they’re very productive).

Their new EP, One-and-Ninety Years of Darkness, continues to explore atmosphere and ambience through black metal, this time with some added dungeon synth feel. The three tracks, according to Mordran, explore the story of a certain “Faustus Thorn, a sorcerer that communes with forbidden powers to bring forth a night lasting 91 years” – a prospect that, despite how attractive it might seem give the last summers, is very appropriate for the music here, which is dark, mystical, and indeed more terrifying than what we’ve heard on the band’s last outages (take the bass of the first song, for instance). Mordran keeps on amazing us with the consistently high level of each release, and will always have a home in our channel.
