Review

Sodade is a beautiful and powerful word, a creole variant of the Portuguese word saudade, which was made famous by the legendary Cesaria Evora. It means a deep longing for something very loved that is missing. It is therefore no surprise to see it used in a post-black metal context by this Brazilian antifascist band, and that their style is appropriately dark and melancholic (but also interwined with fury and aggression, as they note themselves), as we would expect from such a name.

We are happy to feature today a video clip single from their first EP, Naskimentu, Resistencia, Despedida. The song is quite promising with a clear and powerful production, mixed with high-quality atmospherics, while the video clip is well shot and further accentuates the emotions of anguish expressed by the music. It’s a great first taste, and we are very eager to listen to the rest of the EP.
