Review

This is not the first time we have covered Spectral Decay, the antifascist act from Albuquerque, New Mexico. They play a well-constructed blend of black metal and crust, with a notable influence from thrash. This blend of genres might be common in RABM, but Spectral Decay makes it feel sharp, fresh, and convincingly their own. The lyrics leave no doubt on the political spectrum of the band, and it feels cathartic to read their lyrics, “No fascist pigs left to bleed” or “Capitol punishment for the capitol knaves“.

There’s not a lot more to say: it is excellent, it evolves through the album, the riffs are great, the heavier parts are good, the lyrics are on point, so go for it and enjoy this thrashy crusty black metal!
