Review

There are sometimes artists or albums from which you don’t easily know their political opinions. Let’s be clear, The Breaching Experiment is not one of those bands. When your album contains tracks such as “Hate Hate Hate (Lament for Gaza)” or “Fascist McFascistface“, there’s no doubt you’re in for an antifascist ride. The Breanching Experiment is a black/death metal solo act from Sweden, with lyrics revolving around environmental and sociological themes, exploring the evolution of our decaying world, especially in the last decade. This album is extremely deathy in its growl, reminiscent of very old-school death metal, and some would say it has a good death’n’roll vibe. It is very enjoyable!

Slower than one would expect, with some songs which end up extremely punk-like, like “Fascist McFascistface“. This album is a political outcry against the fascist assaults all over the world that we are facing, while we should be combating climate change, reducing inequalities and taking care of one another. The second point of this album is already in its name, coined by the band: ‘Morphocide‘. It describes “the necessary dismantling of fossil capitalism“, which has been revived by the unprecedented assault by fascist president Trump that constantly pushes for more coal and oil consumption, signing off on a decrease of coal at the cost of our lives.

So enjoy this album, enjoy some quality death metal that you can trust, and join us in listening to this masterpiece of an album!
