Review
Hello, hello, listeners. We are back with the Germans Carving Void, which already carved a void for sure in our hearts when they were featured with their single “Fragments Under the Black Sun“, for the album we are happy to share here today, leaving us hanging by a thread, expectant for more material!
The time is now, landing this bombshell of blackened death metal with hardcore in 9 pieces, exploring the boundless rage and anguish of societies at the verge of collapse in a world of never-ending disaster and gruesome systemic aggression against any and all peoples. After a short intro, the album goes straight to the heart with sharp knives. Far from a “war metal” kind of sound, Carving Void hits home quite a traditional approach to their unbridled, at times quite nasty riffs and crafty melody architecture regarding death metal lead by signature angsty gutturals and screamed high vocal peaks, keeping it still in a frame fusing black metal touches with the occasional hardcore kick.
Any listener who holds the genre dear will surely picture the footprints of important acts such as Entombed, with all proper compositional distance and prowess.
Play this from start to end when you feel like filling your veins with the will to build a new world from the ashes of all empires, to resist their timeless offspring filling our senses with shallow hate, and let the embrace of this determination surpass the dire frustration of powerlessness. We can only promise you’ll jump in place!
