For today, be prepared to receive some sludgy, deathly industrial metal from Antigonish, Canada. ‘Noxious‘ is the first full-length album of the anticapitalistic band Paranormal Arson.
At the very least, I can say that this album is brutal and invasive. The diversity in the sounds coming from the industrial world, with noises, synths, and extremely efficient drums, is easily transformed into a groovy sludge metal, retaining the very rocky, guttural growl characteristic of death metal. It is not without reminding some Godflesh-like songs. With lyrics covering many of this world’s problems, from manipulation by the politicians in “Hook, line, fished“, to capitalistic greed in ‘The Leech” and hateful ideology in “A Bloated Sac of Noxious Gas and Bile“, it is hard to miss the politics in this album. The good quality of the mix really brings light to the album.
If you like sludge and industrial metal, this album is for you. If you like death metal, this album is for you. If you like brutality and uncompromising tracks, this album is for you. So go for it, give it a listen and enjoy!
