Boasting a cavernous production style, blast beats, cool bass lines, and just good old riffz, we are happy to bring you one of the best EPs put out this year. ‘Nomadic War Machine‘ is a brutal soundtrack to resistance by UK war metal band Insurrect.

One song in, and the band has already kicked your ass. What’s more, they show no signs of stopping. Don’t take this the wrong way; however, this isn’t some 15-minute chug fest. There’s a lot of thought put into the writing, as evidenced by the innate grooviness in some of the riffs and drumming. One would be mistaken for assuming that this is an EP for the metalhead who only needs blastbeats. There’s a dynamism in the arrangements and the contrast between midtempo moments to the blastbeats gives this an edge that we can only call sonically satisfying.

So put on some Insurrect the next time you feel a strong primal anger at the decaying world around you. It might just turn you into a ‘Nomadic War Machine‘ yourself.
