Review

Lighting Sun is a black-doom band from California. ‘Star of Bethlehem’ is their second album, following a first album in 2024 called ‘Man With No Name’, as the title of their songs make it clear, their music deal with the nefast influence of the US in the Middle East. They play a quite lo-fi doom black, which might feel a bit raw for some of the higher mix enjoyers. In this new album, the theme is about Gaza, refugees, and fascism. Themes that live daily in our minds while the g*nocide in Gaza is still happening and fascist dictator Trump is pushing harder on its population and on the world. Along with their music, they are also doing some social and charity work, raising funds for families in Gaza.
