Hello, hello. We hope you didn’t want to get warm and cosy by the fire with what we offer this festive day, even though we will talk about particular warming that shouldn’t be happening on our planet.

Presenting his new work under Ecologist, we can only be especially glad and honoured to feature ‘Glaciares: Premonici​ó​n de los fragmentos del deshielo inminente’ (Glaciers: Premonition of the imminent thaw’s fragments). Vicente Norambuena, the prolific and restless (artistically at least, as we can guess) Chilean artist behind the project, channels through this EP a solid wall of sound in two pieces opening about the concern for the state of the glaciers in the polar rings of the Earth, as we step in a state of no return in the consequences of climate change that’s rapidly ending the balance of regions and their ecosystems, effects that affect all regions in a domino effect that only the fool or the willingly ignorant would deny.

To put a voice to this disastrous reality we’re facing, V. offers a solid piece divided into two parts, starting with a freezing sonic thread of droning atmospheres and raw, doomy black metal (we could refer back to his previous work also featured in the channel for his overall techniques and personal blend of atmoblack). The longest piece, for 13 minutes long the listener could feel the oppressive weight of the guitar and vocal works within this cold, impenetrable wall of sound and wails, as if the Winter itself was expressing a sorrowful chant, leaving an uncut bridge for the next piece, a poetic and heart-piercing song as the wave that will crush the coasts and all life in its wake not only on land.
In a cold yet somehow merry for many, hopefully for you too, listener, there’s nothing more soothing than a cool kick of reality to reflect on with a killer set of riffs, as Ecologist do offer to finish the year.
