We are thrilled today to announce and share what we believe is one of the most interesting and dedicatedly crafted projects, which, from the start, already shows a point of detail that invokes the thread of personal involvement and depth cast into it.

This is Intraether, a duo from Spain, presenting their debut work as a premiere. Drawing primarily from atmospheric black metal, ‘Vestiges‘ breaks the mold continually across the whole almost-30-minutes of playtime, not just in terms of technique or the equipment the band deliberately decided to use or to pay a tribute to, but also in any and all approaches to the song structure and conceptual expressions, which twists together quite perfectly what the band themselves cite as inspirational figures for this work to be born: after the ominous and enchanting intro (“In Perpetuity“) throwing us chants as if picturing the listener in a candle-lit temple surrounded by countless hanging icons and forms, the next song (“Echoes of a Silent Lament“) bursts with a visceral voice and hooking riffs, showing the first kicks of symphonic and progressive rock breaking through the mantle of notes that say Black metal, a transition of going from Fluisteraars to King Crimson, starting off and following for also a plethora of dark ambient detailing, holding together to create this unique collage.

‘Vestiges‘ is not only a technical solid piece of work, from visuals to soundwork, it also takes you by the whole arm into a personal space shaped to be an echo of the weight of life on shaking shoulders, a mirror for depression, the scars of trauma and the heavy heart of melancholy, while opening for a conclusion about the will to struggle for hope and healing, in both a transparent but opaque glass.
