Review

Absolute Miseration‘ is the first album of Unmaking, a trio from Glasgow mixing elements of black and death metal, extremely groovy, with some elements of grindcore and sludge. From the first notes, you can feel the struggle and the pain with this howling scream and the undertuned guitars. Some parts are not without reminding of Coffin Mulch, but also of older death metal.

Rooted in a clear working-class and trans-inclusive perspective, this album embodies everything we value in our scene: brutality, commiseration, pain, and anger, all packed with riff-heavy guitars and raging drums. The very low tuning used in the opening tracks is especially striking, adding extra weight to an already crushing sound.

So, enjoy the ride and give it a listen, and show some love to Unmaking‘s first album!
