As you might remember, we announced a little while ago that our channel will begin branching out to the entirety of the metal spectrum, as a strong antifascist movement is neither just a phenomenon present in the black metal scene, nor just needed there. Heavy metal, power metal, doom metal, prog metal bands, contact us! In this train of thought (pun intended) we’d like to welcome back a staple of antifascist and politically vocal heavy metal musicians, Alicia Cordisco, hopefully by now a well known name to most of you. Alicia has already produced an important body of work ranging from power, heavy and thrash to even black metal, with various bands and projects such as Transgressive, Project: Roenwolfe, Judicator and contributions to many more. During the last years, she also started putting out material as a solo artist; while last year’s “The Burden of I” did a fantastic foray in melodic black metal, Alicia now returns to the familiar territory of heavy/power metal, welcoming a big company of guest artists in the department of vocals from bands that she has worked together in the course of her career. But the catch this time is there is certainly a bit of a gothic metal/alternative rock influence in the mostly power metal oriented material, using the soaring voices of the excellent guest vocalists to create anthemic, stadium-like refrains. There are also some atmospheric and symphonic moments where piano and keyboards are used, a few brutal vocals here and there which add to the variety of the material, and the quality of writing, playing and production is as expected from the level that we’ve gotten used from Alicia. Heavy metal music to sing out loud to!
