Review
‘Skevheten‘ is a very interesting word in Swedish. The closest equivalents in English are ‘warp’ or ‘lopsidedness’. As you listen to the album ‘Skevheten‘ by The Breaching Experiment, you get the impression that the music truly warps and distorts the very fabric of existence. The melodic, slow guitar parts, which make good use of moments of silence, merge into violent bursts of raw black metal intensity.
The lyrics centre on environmental issues and the twisted nature of a world marked by war and suffering. One might therefore get the impression that the world we live in today is indeed twisted, that the state of capitalism, greed, and excessive consumption—including that of animals—as well as hatred and prejudice, is the result of some sinister, twisted force at work.
A solid piece of death/black metal created by a single artist, with a clearly interesting concept that ties the themes together, both musically and lyrically.
