Review
Sedmi Sekretar simply do not fuck around. Named after the Seven Secretaries of the League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia who were leading figures in the organization between 1924 and 1931 and were all either killed or died from issues directly relating to their political persecution, the band, currently based in Bosnia, draws inspiration directly from the communist and antifascist history of Yugoslavia and named their latest EP after the Bleiburg Repatriations, where Nazi collaborators and fascist troops, primarily of the Croatian HOS but also Montenegrin, Hungarian and Albanian nationalist collaborationist troops, were forced back from the British army to surrender to the pursuing Yugoslav Partisan forces, to a predictable and bloody conclusion near Tezno in Slovenia. As you can probably tell, the songs follow the same aggressive pattern, with the first track literally named Welcome to Tezno, and the sound being just as aggressive and and rage-filled, just pure slabs of raw, pummeling lo-fi black metal played straight from trenches and guerrilla hideouts. This is music to punch kvltlord ‘panzer divisions’ in the face with. With brass knuckles.
